Hello, everyone!
You may have noticed the “Happy New Years!” message on my website when you came here the last few days. I have been doing some changes, that I thought I would tell you about.
Over Christmas, I was in a political debate with my cousin about various topics, and I brought up my personal boycott of Microsoft, and I told her the reasons why I have boycotted them. The main reason, in short, is they have been using their company and it’s money for something it isn’t designed for. But, that is not what this post is about.
While I was in this conversation, I realized something. I originally made this website for web design. That’s what I want a future carrier in. But, at the same time, I have been using it to post my personal and political views. How am I any different then the company I have boycotted?
So, I decided to put up that “Happy New Years” message, so I could move some things around. I now have three blogs on this server. This one for tech and web design. I will be posting my opinions about various tech and web design news, and [hopefully] reviews.
Then I have my Personal Blog. That is where I will post my personal views, political views, and anything else that crosses my mind.
Lastly, I have my Archives area. These posts are older posts of mine, that I thought I didn’t want to move to my new “personal blog.” Some of them because I thought they were childish, some because I have changed my opinion about that topic, and others because they are just no longer relevant.
And the last change I have done is not really related to my blog. But, I have decided to discontinue my http://prgl.tk/ URL shortener. The reason being, WordPress has a built-in wp.me URL shortener, that stays the same, no matter how much the URL changes.
Please note that all already-shortened URL’s on prgl.tk will stay up. I am jut not allowing anyone to shorten new URL’s with the service. I would like to thank YOURLS and it’s creator(s) for making such a wonderful service, and I would gladly use it again, should I decide to start a new shortener.
Thank you, everyone.
